If you love adventure or you work outdoor most of the time and the large phone makes you feel clumsy and looking to buy a small handy smartphone this is just perfect for you. Atom is a tiny phone but it doesn’t compromise on its features. Unihertz has given Atom a stunning look with powerful features. Atom has given a strong powerful body which actually makes it perfect for rough use.
It comes with a rubber body with ridges at the corner with red highlighted areas which provides additional protection and grip. The top and the bottom come with huge bezels which don’t matter as it is a rugged smartphone. Unihertz has especially worked on its display providing layers of protection for rough use. This portable design runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with a 2.45-inch display with Gorilla Glass which protects the phone from normal drops and scratches). It is a little bit weaker on resolution part comes with 240×432 pixels resolution.
It measures Dimensions: 96 x 45 x 18mm and weighs 108 grams. Atom is powered by octa-coreprocessor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Looking at the camera specifications, the Rear camera comes with 16-megapixel and flash at the top and secondary camera with 8-megapixel. The front-facing camera is just placed at the top of the phone with headset speaker.
It also features small fingerprint scanner places at the place of the home button, which also works under water. There are task switcher and back button both sides along with the scanner. The Face Unlock feature, which works differently compared to other smartphone devices. It will unlock your device by identifying your face but you still need
to swipe. It comes with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance which also helps to take underwater photographs and videos.
Atom has PTT button with Zello app which works on WIFI or mobile data and act as a walkie-talkie and allows to talk on the go in other countries as well. It also comes with 3.5mm headset Jack at the top and USB type-C port for charging which is extremely good as on cheaper android phones we get low micro USB. It gets various connectivity options like WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS and GLONASS, FM radio, USB for better performance. Atom is backed by 2,000mAh a battery which provides full bay battery backup with normal use like texting, facebook, emails and calls.
Unihertz Atom can definitely work as a secondary smartphone when you’re out for work or for adventurous activities. It works pretty well looking at its size, obviously, we will not get as good as high priced flagship smartphones.
